Re. the request of the leadership of the Lebanese Communist Party

Meet the request of the leadership of Lebanese Communist Party and accept 12 Lebanese comrades in the USSR in 1974 for the period up to 6 months for training to in organizing military and combat work.

Their reception, accomodation, material supplies, and the organization of their training, as well as the payment in foreign currency for the passage of Lebanese comrades from Beirut to Moscow and back is to be borne by the USSR Ministry of Defence.

Re: request of the leadership of the Lebanese Communist Party

The leadership of the Lebanese Communist Party has requested the CPSU Central Committee to accept in the USSR for the period up to 6 months of 12 comrades for the preparation and training as specialists in organizing military and combat work. (KGB from Beirut, special telegrams № 1127, № 1128 dated 24 July 24 [1973] of this year and special № 2109 dated 2 December of this year).

[We] would consider it expedient to satisfy the request of Lebanese friends, and lay the responsibility for their reception, accomodation, material supplies, and the organization of their training, as well as the payment in foreign currency for the passage of Lebanese comrades from Beirut to Moscow and back is to be borne by the USSR Ministry of Defence. This matter has been agreed with the USSR Ministry of Defence (Comrade Ivashutin, P.I.)
