CC CPSU

Concerning the Request of the Leadership of the Sudanese Communist Party

The leadership of the Sudanese Communist Party (SCP) has submitted a request to host two members of the SCP in the Soviet Union for special training on questions relating to ensuring the security of the party (coded telegram from the city of Khartoum, special no. 456 dated 4 November 1988).

We would consider it possible to satisfy this request and host two members of the SCP in the USSR in December 1988 for special training on questions relating to ensuring the security of the party. The reception and servicing of the Sudanese comrades could be entrusted to the International Department and the Directorate of Affairs of the CC CPSU, and special training to the Committee of State Security of the USSR.

This matter has been coordinated with the Committee of State Security of the USSR [illegible] and the Directorate of Affairs of the CC CPSU.

The draft of the CC CPSU resolution is attached.

Deputy Head of the International Department of the CC CPSU
