Re: Request of the leadership of the Communist and Socialist Parties of Chile
The leadership of the Communist and Socialist Parties of Chile (CPC and SPC) requests that the CC CPSU receive in 1988 30 CPC and 14 SPC activists to undergo a course of military training for a term of up to six months.
Considering that the said parties badly need trained military personnel, we believe it expedient to partially grant the CPC’s request and accommodate 30 activists of the Communist Party of Chile and grant the SPC’s request in full. The Ministry of Defense of the USSR could be tasked with the accommodation, military training, and reimbursement of the traveling expenses — country of residence to Moscow — of the 44 Chilean comrades. This issue has been coordinated with the head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR (Comrade V.N. Mikhailov).
Draft resolution of the CC CPSU is enclosed herewith.

Re: Conversation with G. Navarrete, member of Executive Committee, CC of the Socialist Party of Chile, of Dec. 5, 1987
During a conversation with workers [officials] of the International Department, CC CPSU, G. Navarrete, on behalf of the SPC leadership, requested that two groups of party activists (seven persons per group) be received in 1988 to undergo a course of military training. He stressed that the assistance by the CPSU in training SPC cadres if of the utmost importance for the stepping up of the struggle of the Chilean patriots for the overthrow of the fascist military junta.
